Responsible for training, testing, and certification of NDT personnel, developing NDT procedures, development of standardized processes and providing support to other departments as required and for overseeing all aspects of the Company’s Welding and Brazing program. Complies with the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies. Supervisory and US Navy ship repair experience necessary, to NAVSEA Standards. Certified NDT L3 to ANST and/or NAVSEA requirements required. Physically able to conduct Shipboard and Shop work. Ability to acquire Rapid Gate Credential required. Must be U.S. Citizen.
Implements and applies the Company quality inspection system. Performs nondestructive testing and inspection for structural welds, pipe welds, castings and other materials in all stages of ship construction and repair. Assists the Company Welding Engineer/NDT Level III Examiner, as required. Three years experience as NDT Level II (VT, MT & PT), familiar with fit-up of pipe/structural, and blueprint reading desired. Able to work independently. Inspection and familiarization with US Navy surface ship repair, and inspection manuals/standards a must. Must be U.S. Citizen.
Implements and applies the Company Quality Inspection System. Familiar with ISO Q9001-2008 Quality Management Systems. Ability to read and interpret work specifications, standards, references, and drawings, in addition to having a background in shipyard or related trade. Inspects CMSD trades and subcontractor work for compliance to specification. Some computer skills needed. NDT and/or NBPI certifications a plus. Must be a US Citizen.
Ability to read and interpret work specifications, standards, and references. Excellent Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast paced environment. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Familiar with ISO certified quality management systems. Familiar with NAVSEA Standard Items and work item formatting in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual “4E” specification. 8 + years ship repair experience mandatory. Minimum 4 years experience developing work procedures, and associated technical documents for ship repair industry. Must qualify for RAPID Gate credentials. Must be U.S. Citizen.
Minimum 4 yrs experience necessary. Must be able to read blueprints & establish material requirements. Experience as a supervisor in Trades a plus, but not a requirement. Computer literate, familiar with MSOffice Suite: Excel/Access/Word.
Journey-level: with a min 5 – 10 yrs Shipboard/shipyard
experience, know marine-piping systems, certify to Tig & able to
pass welding test requirements. Must be US citizen.
